RMAA announces “RIM @ Work” brochure series
In line with its ongoing commitment and strategic direction to increase knowledge in the field of records and information management and to actively promote the value of records and information management, the Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA) intends to release a brochure series in mid 2008 which will provide access to the information, knowledge and practice tools that records and information managers need.
Offered individually and in sets for use in employee orientation, ongoing training, customer education, or to promote records management activities, brochures in this series will answer the what, why, and how for various records and information management (RIM) topics.
These brochures are intended to provide an introduction that will be relevant to most organisations, leaving it to records management staff to provide organisation-specific context and training. Not only will this brochure series become a key information source for any person who works with records and information, it will also benefit the Association’s members by offering opportunities to expand their knowledge, contribute to the Association and maintain their continuing professional development.
“This initiative allows the RMAA to promote records and information management on a variety of levels by providing continuing professional development opportunities for our members, developing practical knowledge in the records and information industry and assisting practitioners to raise awareness of records and information in their organizations” said RMAA CEO, Kate Walker, “The RIM @ Work Series will become the quintessential quick reference guides for records and information management”.
In that regard the RMAA is seeking contributions from members who are interested in and willing to write the content for any one or more of the brochures in the series. It is envisaged that each submission which is accepted through a peer-review, will be added to the series of brochures available from the RMAA which will become known as the RMAA “RIM @ Work” Series, effectively a informational “How / Who / What is” brochure series containing a number of varying brochures on practical RIM related subjects.
Details on submission requirements, contact details and suggested topics are available on the RMAA website.
