Membership Benefits
The membership benefits are broken into the below broad categories:
Continuing Education:
- The RMAA facilitates conventions, seminars and workshops to provide
the opportunity for members to obtain updated knowledge & skills
and to further discuss those issues effecting records and information
management.
Fees are discounted for financial members.
- The State Government Chapter provides, at Chapter meetings,
guest speakers who are chosen for their teaching and knowledge-sharing
abilities
in a particular
subject area.
Networking Opportunities:
- The RMAA and State Government Chapter provide an avenue to share
the same challenges and concerns in the records and information management
profession by networking with others with common interests.
- The State Government Chapter provides an email distribution list
for posting broad messages to its members. Some examples are discussing items
of interest,
job advertisements / recruitment and notification of upcoming meetings,
workshops or conferences.
Increased Professionalism:
- The RMAA and State Government Chapter provide the opportunity for
all members to enhance their professional development and expertise, thus
increasing career opportunities.
- The RMAA and State Government Chapter assist members' agencies
objectives by the direct links offered with other recordkeeping professionals,

- The RMAA provides the opportunity for members to be accredited

Professional Publications:
- As the leading professional journal in the field, the RMAA publishes
the "INFORMAA Quarterly" which contains articles and information
provided by various sources throughout Australia on new and exciting issues
effecting the industry. The "INFORMAA Quarterly" also advertises
records management software, services and equipment.
- The Queensland Branch of the RMAA publishes a bi-monthly newsletter,
titled "INFORMAA",
which provides further information and articles on issues specific
to the state of Queensland.
Information Sharing:
- The State Government Chapter promotes common recordkeeping goals
across State Government agencies by promoting free, equal and open
exchange of records management ideas and information. Some examples are:
policies,
procedures, standards and guidelines.
Legislative and Standards Awareness:
- The RMAA and State Government Chapter provide a forum, as well
as a framework for input and feedback, for the discussion of current recordkeeping
trends and technology, legislative changes and development of new standards.

The RMAA and State Government Chapter work with groups and government bodies
to improve and contribute input to legislation and standards affecting the
records and information industry.
Product Directory:
- The RMAA produces an online Product Directory from where members
can select providers of every conceivable records and information
management service or supply. Whilst advertisers in the Product Directory
are not
endorsed by the RMAA, it is a comprehensive list of suppliers from which
to make an
