Membership Transfers
Individual membership is transferable from Branch to Branch.
When the individual member of the Association changes their place of dwelling (jurisdiction in which their financial membership is held), notification to the RMAA Office of the transfer is made and all membership details are to be forwarded to the new Branch Council to which the member is transferring.
Membership Details
All members must notify the RMAA Office of any changes, amendments and/or additional information in relationship to their membership to the Association, failure to do so may result in the member being deemed as non-financial (For example, a member transfers from one employer to another).
Non-Financial
Any member who has is not currently financial, will have all privileges revoked until the situation is remedied.
All Professional members are prohibited from using the post nominal letters eg., ARMA, MRMA and FRMA while non-financial.
Should a professional member not renew their membership, then they must return their professional status certificate to the Association.
After the second reminder for payment, the RMAA Office will notify the non-financial status of members to the relevant Branch Council to investigate and follow up.
Awards
Life Member
The Association provides for Life Membership for a person of good character whose information and records management activities have brought credit to the Association, and who has contributed to the growth of Information and Records Management and its recognition as a profession.
A list of the members that have been honoured with Life Membership is available here.
Honorary
This category is a “thank you” which allows the candidate to gain some public recognition out of the status so it must be considered with due diligence. The candidate can for instance say in literature that they are an "Honorary Member of the RMAA".
