About Influence with Integrity 2007

About the Theme

INFLUENCE WITH INTEGRITY... a theme for now and for ever

The RMAA National Convention 2007, to be held in Wellington, NZ, from September 9 to 12, 2007, will concentrate on recordkeepers' ability to make ethically-sound differences within the organisations they serve, to Influence with Integrity. The three action and fact-packed day of debate, and the post-conference workshops, will focus on influence in the wider community, in the private and public business worlds, and within the records, archives and information management professions themselves.

A Picture Perfect City - Wellington

Wellington is a picture perfect city. It is set between a magnificent harbour and rolling green hills. It is also a compact city where funky shops, exciting galleries and great restaurants are within easy walking distance.

“... Wellington is a vibrant and creative city. It's compact and village-like in size... Wellingtonians are a friendly bunch and they love to party whether it's supporting a sports event or a film premiere."

- Peter Jackson, Lord of the Rings film Director, 2006

Wellington’s city visit group, Positively Wellington Tourism, has a large amount of information available online.  It has virtual video tours of the city, its heritage, wildlife and nightlife.  It has links to a comprehensive list of city hotels and other accommodation, tour guides and suggestions, maps and event listings for the city and its surrounding region, and New Zealand-wide tourism.

“Beautiful scenery, art, great food and a touch of Hollywood – it’s all within walking distance in Wellington. The only problem is deciding what to do first"

- Rachel Hancock: Adelaide Advertiser 2005

Visitors to the capital will see Wellington’s slogan, Absolutely, Positively, Wellington, in many places.  It neatly encapsulates the style of the lusty little city (population: 160,000) that the Hong Kong Tatler recently called  “…so hip and alive with excitement ...”

Spending more time in Wellington and across Kiwiland?  Have a look at the colourful official government tourism resource.

We have also gathered an extensive list of New Zealand travel and tourism resources for your convenience.

The Convention's Graphic Logo Image

The Graphic logo image is based on famous New Zealand's symbol 'Fern'; and 'N3'.

Fern is a symbol of great sincerity and humility, the fern conceals its delicate charm in the shaded parts of wood and forest. The mythical fern flower blooms like shining gold or fire. In Māori culture, the unfurling tree fern frond, the koru, symbolises fertility, re-birth and growth.

Other legends say that the flower is only seen by the good and honest searcher and when found, it will protect him from every evil force.

N3 emphasises the subject streams of our Influence with Integrity theme, being Nation, Nature and Nurture.
