Sarah Heal will be presenting on Change management for records managers on Wednesday
Sarah Heal began her career in information management at Archives New Zealand, the national archives of New Zealand. Now, almost 15 years later, she has held a range of information management positions interspersed with forays into the worlds of demographics, corporate planning and policy analysis.
In her role as Information Manager at Dunedin City Council, Sarah Heal led successful implementations across a range of information management areas including internet / intranet, document management and GIS.
She believes that successful records management requires a multi-disciplinary approach. To this end, she co-founded Information Leadership Consulting Ltd, a fast growing business that is committed to helping organisations unlock and exploit their information and know-how.
Bringing together specialists in records management; ex-CEOs (telecommunications and utilities) and IT experts, Information Leadership operates at the boundaries where technology meets change.
Sarah has a pragmatic approach to document management implementations and is the co-author of the book, Flapping to Flying: Transforming IT into Information Leadership. She comments regularly on various information management themes and her thinking has been covered in Computerworld, IT Brief, Local Government magazine and CIO Magazine.
Her articles include: ‘Taming the Data Explosion’; ‘Knowledge Management: Capturing Know-How and Building it into the Fabric of the Business’; ‘EDRMS Promises and Pitfalls’; and ‘Information and Document Security’.
Recent assignments include business taxonomies, corporate archive and record-keeping strategies, change management programmes, EDRMS implementations and record management training needs analysis.
