Using a model driven factory to produce EDMS Lite Products

Bay Technologies produces a range of software products that provide compliance and governance solutions for companies and government regulators. Bay’s products deliver organisations with best practice operation for a range of compliance and governance functions - from correspondence tracking and management, case and investigation management, contract management, incident management, service request management. All of Bay’s applications are designed to interact with major EDRMS systems – Tower TRIM, Open Text etc. In effect Bay’s applications provide a work practice aligned wrapper around the EDRMS products – we call this EDRMS lite.
Amongst the unique outcomes of Bay’s products is the use of a software factory based on Model Driven Architecture principles to produce the compliance products.
This presentation will discuss how Bay has gone about re-organising strategy and operations across IT and the company to arrive at a product focused software factory that produces products that are 100% generated from design repositories.
The value derived from this approach allows Bay to rapidly and cost effectively deliver commercial compliance and governance products, aligned with EDRMS principles and products, that are highly tailored to fit our customer’s work practices.
