Archives and their Allies

The work of the archivist and records manager is seen to be one of the main pillars of good governance. Our institutions have an important role in supporting public sector integrity and accountability. The National Archives of Australia has responded to the current challenges of maintaining government accountability with a new structure and new processes to sharpen our focus on the future of records management in a digital world.
We are also working closely with other accountability and integrity institutions – the natural allies of archives - to help further the causes of good public records management and accountable and more efficient public administration.
