Ross Gibbs
Presenting Archives and their Allies
Ross Gibbs has been Director General of the National Archives of Australia since 2003. Previously he was Keeper of Public Records and Director of the Public Record Office in Victoria (Australia).
His principal professional concerns have been the management of electronic or digital records having led development of the Victorian Electronic Records System (VERS) when in Victoria and of the Australasian Digital Recordkeeping Initiative (ADRI) since moving to the National Archives.
He has held numerous positions in the archives and records world in Australia and internationally on the International Council, most recently serving as Convenor of the Council of Australasian Archives and Record Authorities (CAARA) and representative for Asia and the Pacific on the Council of the International Round Table on Archives (CITRA). Ross has received a Public Service Medal in Australia for his services to Archives and Records Management.
